BC Dairy is a leader in the dairy industry, undertaking activities in marketing, nutrition, education, and policy advocacy. We are committed to excellence, sustainability, and fostering a thriving dairy industry within Canada's supply-managed system.

BC Dairy is actively involved in the Western Milk Pool and working through a transformation process. The successful candidate for this role will lead and participate in projects that span the Western Provinces as part of the Development & Growth Business Unit.   

As part of our hybrid workplace there is a requirement to attend in person meetings on a regular basis.  Applicants must be based within commuting distance of one of the Western Milk Provincial offices - Langley, Edmonton, Regina and Winnipeg. 

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Director of Corporate & Partner Communications holds a pivotal leadership role, central to shaping and enhancing both external and internal communication strategies. The Director leads the development and execution of communication and engagement strategies, ensuring alignment amongst key stakeholders and fostering a culture of transparent and proactive communication within the organization. This role nurtures internal communication channels to keep all team members informed, engaged, and aligned with our broader goals, while also ensuring our external partners, stakeholders, and the larger community remain actively engaged and informed. The Director of Corporate & Partner Communications will also participate in a leadership role in developing a broader communications and engagement function for the Western Milk Pool.

WHAT WE NEED:

●      Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent relevant experience
●      A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in communications and engagement or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
●      A minimum of five (5) years of people management experience.
●      A minimum of five (3) years of media relations experience.
●      An understanding of BC’s agriculture sector and food community will be an asset.
●      Extensive experience in communications or public affairs, writing, editing and developing multi-stakeholder engagement strategies. 
●      Capable of effectively managing multiple projects, prioritizing, and teaching others the same.
●      Proven success with managing people, fiscal prudence, effective communication to both board and staff levels and procurement strategies.
●      Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills, working collaboratively with producers, internal team members, and other stakeholders.
●      Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle as needed (mileage will be compensated).
●      Possesses highly developed analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
●      Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills, with demonstrated competency in information and communication technology.
●      Demonstrated excellent organizational and coordination skills and the ability to prioritize multiple competing workloads demands.
●      Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
●      High level of initiative and self-direction

Compensation:
The salary range for this type of position would typically be $100-$140k. The actual compensation offered may vary based on factors including but not limited to job related knowledge, skills, experience, education and certifications as well as location and business needs.
